Loosely based on the 1985 tremendously entertaining Michael J. Fox film of the same name, Teen Wolf begins with Scott McCall (Tyler Posey, Smallville, Brothers & Sisters), a wimpy high school student living in the town of Beacon Hills, settling himself to sleep when his sharp best friend, Stiles Stilinski (Dylan O’Brien, First Dates with Toby Harris, New Girl), shows up outside his window. He brings shocking news to his pal’s notice. Apparently, his father, Sheriff Stilinski (Linden Ashby, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Pretty Little Liars), was called to the woods, after someone found half a body.
For two pins, the adolescents go in quest of the rest of the victim’s remains. In their reckless pursuit of adventure, Scott is bitten by a werewolf, causing him to transform into one himself. The day after the attack, he tries out for the lacrosse team. Not only does he get over Jackson Whittemore (Colton Haynes, The Gates, Arrow), the captain of the squad and his rival, but he suddenly comes in for the supersonic hearing and lightning-fast reflexes of, well, a wolf.
As the series progresses, Scott learns to balance his wavering new identity with his day to day teenage life. As if things weren’t complicated enough, he loses his heart to Allison Argent (Crystal Reed, CSI: NY, Drop Dead Diva), the beautiful new girl in town, who also happens to be a descendent from a long line of werewolf hunters. An agile, caring and sweet youngster with a natural talent for archery, Allison goes by the Argents’ hunting code, “Nous chassons ceux qui nous chassent”, which means “We hunt those who hunt us”. However, both her grandfather, Gerard (Michael Hogan, Warehouse 13, Supernatural), and aunt, Kate (Jill Wagner, Monk, Bones), slaughtered werewolves regardless of their innocence. On her first day at school, Allison befriends Lydia Martin (Holland Roden, Lost, Grey’s Anatomy), Beacon Hills High’s most popular female student and Stiles’ love interest. The one who always goes to Scott’s rescue and tries to keep him and his friends out of harm’s way is Derek Hale (Tyler Hoechlin, 7th Heaven, Castle), a mysterious Alpha werewolf with a dark past.
