The discovery comes when one of the two, Bay Kennish (played by Vanessa Marano) realizes that she couldn’t possibly be her parents’ daughter after studying blood types in school and finding put that they didn’t match. She’s a sweet, talented teenager who has lived into a wealthy family in Kansas City. The crazy situation makes the entire family wonder and they return to the hospital where she was born only to find out that their baby had been switched with another newborn girl.
Wanting to find the whole truth they start a search for the girl and her family. But not every story was as happy as theirs. They find Daphne Vasquez (Katie Leclerc) being raised by a single mother in a poor neighborhood in Missouri. And on top of that, because of meningitis, the teenager was left partially deaf.
The news come crushing down on everyone, turning their lives upside down, and both families will try and do what they think is best. In the end, the Kennishes offer Daphne’s mother to move to their house, together with the girl, in order to help them and give them time to know each other and make sure that the girls receive the best of attention.
