This animated sitcom is created by the same people that used to work on the MTV series of Beavis and Butt-head. Now, this series, even though holds the same type of animation is touching a different type of situations and characters.
It’s all about a redneck family living in a small town in Arlen, Texas. The leading figure is the father, Henry Rutherford Hill, who is voiced by Mike Judge (The good Family, Spy Kids, Beavis and Butt-head). Knows by everyone as “Hank” he is your typical proud salesman, a proud and old-fashioned father. Margret Hill (voiced by Kathy Najimy) is his wife of many talents: she teaches Spanish in Arlen (even though she’s not good at it herself), writes for a newspaper column and is a softball pitcher among other. Together they have a son of thirteen years old. He’s a bit of an oddball, not particularly interested in the same things that boys of his age usually are, and that worry his bather from time to time. Even so, he’s smart enough to know how to get the girls. And the last member living in their house is Leanne, daughter of Margret’s brother who ends up living with them after a fight in her family.
Packed up with both genuine and surprising humour on one side, and intense cliffhangers on the other, King of the Hill sets a different standard to the animated sitcoms usually created. The characters are real enough and go through such situations that one way or another they connect with the audience.
