Harriet Korn (Kathy Bates) also known as “Harry” was a renowned, well-paid, successful patent lawyer until everything that motivated her went down the drain and she got herself fired. Her sarcasm and wits make her redirect her attention towards a new sort of cases, and she takes interest in becoming a criminal defense lawyer, settling her office in a shoe store in Cincinnati. She gathers around a couple of associates different from your regular type of attorneys:
Adam Branch (Nate Corddry) is a young lawyer who ends up working for her after hitting Harry with his car. Previously he had some unfortunate encounters against her in court, resenting her for calling him an ‘arrogant little snort’.
Jenna Backstorm (Brittany Snow) is Harry’s mood-winging assistant who deals with her problems by visiting the supply closet from time to time.
Malcolm Davies (Aml Ameen) tried to commit suicide – but he failed by landing on top of Harry. She defended him in court on his drug possession case and he ended up working for her.
And somewhere along the line, thanks to her not so charming but powerful personality and thanks to the awkward but successful team Harry manages to build, more unique characters will decide to cross the line and chose a place in her law firm. Humorous series, it will make you laugh and feel close to at least one of the mail characters.
