    After it is discovered that he falsely claimed to have a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University, Jeff Winger (Joel McHale, The Soup), a quick thinking, fast talking and cunning lawyer, is forced to attend Greendale Community College. Once enrolled, he catches time by the forelock and forms a study group in an attempt to get himself noticed by Britta Perry (Gillian Jacobs, The Book of Daniel), a dropout student with something to prove.

    Among the other members of the group rank Pierce, a millionaire whose life experience brought him infinite wisdom, Shirley, a single mother of three and vocal Christian artist, Abed, a pop culture junkie who aspires to become a director, Troy, a former high school football star and Annie, a high strung perfectionist. They originally unite as a study group for the Spanish 101 class taught by controversial teacher Señor Chang and quickly become friends.

    A moist towelette tycoon, Pierce Hawthorne (Chevy Chase, Chuck) enrolled in Greendale Community College in 1999 looking for companionship and popularity… Unfortunately, his clumsiness and his hopeless lack of tact retained him. He claims to be also a world traveler, a toastmaster, magician, keyboardist and hypnotherapist. A sassy divorcée, Shirley Bennett (Yvette Nicole Brown, Rules of Engagement) is taking classes which will allow her to put her brownie business on its feet. She is very kind to everyone, but sometimes has an oar in every man’s boat.

    Although his original plan was to take business classes to help run his father’s falafel stand, Abed Nadir (Danny Pudi, Greek) decided to pursue his true passion. At a glimpse, he seems apathetic, but this film student catches women’s attention. Troy Barnes (Donald Glover, 30 Rock) is a former high school star quarterback turned nerd. Now, he plays football for the nonathletic Greendale Human Beings, is distracted by shiny objects and tends to cry over minor emotional impediments.
    The youngest of the group, Annie Edison (Alison Brie, Mad Men) lost her college scholarship due to an addiction to Adderall. Now, she is very intensely focused on grades, school activities and takes the cohesion of the study group more seriously than the other members. Like Jeff, “Señor” Ben Chang (Ken Jeong, The Hangover) is caught on the wrong foot. Suspended from teaching and having anger management issues, he makes havoc in campus.
